The Gast Family

I am not a huge fan of this blogging stuff and more than likely I am not going to update this site a lot. So bare with me and from time to time when I feel like it I will throw some new stuff on about our Gast family and friends. Hope you enjoy! Nick and Fam.

Evelyn Karen Gast

Stephanie and I are now the proud parents of Evelyn Karen Gast! She was born on November 5, 2006(Actual due date) at 6:58am. She weighed in at a whopping 7 lb. 12 oz. and measured 19" in length. (I give her 17" after day one when her cone head shrunk)

To all of you first timers like me, read the following.

Matt and Laura, Mike and Erin, Jeff and Tara.

The first week in beyond exhausting and if you don't eat right and get your sleep you will wear yourself out completely. We have a wonderful baby and we are lucky in the fact that she is well behaved and only crys when she is hungry. However I do know all baby's are different.

I tried to do everything for Stephanie when we got home on Tuesday and in the process I did not eat and sleep like I should have been doing. So in consequence I payed for it, come Wednesday night I started to feel a tickle in my throat and all of a sudden I had the flu. (Cold and hot flashes all the way through Thursday night.) But now it is Friday all I have is a slightly sore throat so I can now see the end of the sickness tunnel and it is GLORIOUS!

If it wasn't for my mother being here helping out Stephanie would have been completely worn out and incapable of taking care of our Evelyn. So thank you, Mom. What really hurt was for two days I could not hold or be in the same room as Evelyn. So I got to hang out in bed and in the basement all day Thursday and probably a good part of today I will do the same. The last thing I want to see is Evelyn trying to handle the flu at only 5 days old.

So get your sleep and eat guys.

Enjoy all of the pictures!
